Endpoint Scanner Requirements

  • Domain Services – all computers where SupTool Endpoint Scanner will be running must be domain joined.

  • Local Network – all computers where SupTool Endpoint Scanner will be running must be able to reach Domain Controller (not always) to be able to receive Group Policy settings.

  • Internet Access – computer, where SupTool Endpoint Scanner is running, must be able to submit scan results to workload located in Microsoft Azure datacenter.

  • .NET Framework – SupTool Endpoint Scanner requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 to be installed on computers where it will be running.

  • Group Policy Management – SupTool Endpoint Scanner is deployed by Group Policy. Necessary permissions are required to create and deploy Group Policy.

  • Common Network Share – dedicated network share is required to host Endpoint Scanner files, to run as Schedule Task.

SupTool consists of two scanners where each of them collects information from specific components in the customer environment.

  • System Scanner – scans Active Directory and Configuration Manager.

  • Endpoint Scanner – scan end-user computers directly.


There are no infrastructure requirements as it is a Cloud-based solution hosted in Microsoft Azure.


There are only three implementation steps to get the system up and running; System Scanner, Endpoint Scanner, and Automation.

What is SupTool?

SupTool is an agentless solution that complements Configuration (SCCM) with new reports that bring the system to the next level.Manager. It is a Cloud-based application that does not require an infrastructure, an implementation, nor maintenance and there is no interference with Configuration Manager. There are more than 30 unique reports that are updated daily.

 System Scanner Requirements

  • Windows PC – any computer on the network that is available 24/7 (workstation or server, physical or virtual machine).

  • Local Network – computer with System Scanner must be able to reach ConfigMgr server and Domain Controller.
  • Internet Access – computer with System Scanner must be able to access workload located in Microsoft Azure datacenter (
  • .NET Framework – computer with System Scanner requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1 to be installed.
  • Domain Account – an account that has permissions to computer objects within targeted OU(s). By default regular “domain users” account have read-only access.
  • ConfigMgr Account – an account that has permissions to computer objects within ConfigMgr. Built-in SCCM role “Read-Only Analyst” provides enough permissions. 


  • Increases the number of managed computers in Configuration Manager.
